Hitching the Ear to the Imagination!

KNOCK KNOCK!

SPARX (Tony "Sparx" Palermo) takes audiences on imaginative adventures using old-time radio sound effects devices and high-tech wizardry. His fast-moving stage show uses  plenty of volunteers—in fact, the entire audience—as Sparx conjures aural illusions to explore how Hollywood uses sonic trickery to amuse and amaze.

WHO’S THERE?

        SPARX!

It’s Sparx! Fresh from the California State Fair where, as a featured performer, he unleashed an avalanche of sounds and gags exploring the imaginative worlds of Hollywood and beyond the rainbow--abetted by a cast of hundreds of noisy volunteers. They experienced everything from his Theremin as Mars Rover to Rollo, the Tap-Dancing Dog, to I Was a Teen-age Triceratops, to a Star Trek reactor meltdown, to Penguins of the Caribbean, to Dorothy & Toto Versus King Kong! And don't forget the 3-legged horse!

Tony "Sparx" Palermo is a professional radio and stage sound effects artist based in Hollywood, but he travels everywhere to perform. He’s appeared on commercial and public radio stations, XM/Sirius  Satellite radio, and for Fairs, Expositions, the United Nations, the Museum of Television & Radio, audio publishers, and at schools--from kindergarten through college. In 2006, his sound effects wizardry won an Audie Award—the Oscar of Audiobooks. Tony also teaches radio drama production and sound design, across the U.S. and around the world.

 And You!

        Volunteers Galore!

Sparx gets audiences into the act to create their own fantastic worlds through sound and story. In radio, the “pictures” are better--because they spring from the listener’s imagination. Sparx presentations are perfect for fairs, expositions,  corporate shows, schools, museums, and fundraisers.

Some adventures include...

Penguins of the Caribbean!

500 mean dogs knock on your door

Dorothy & Toto Vs. King Kong!
